Denmark Still Performs Well Despite Low 3G Penetration & Broadband Quality

Denmark’s performance on the 2010 Connectivity Scorecard is still consistently excellent. It has high penetration of business broadband and a robust electronic transaction infrastructure indicated by the high score on the penetration rate of secure servers. It also does very well on Business usage and skills with a large proportion of enterprise turnover arising from electronic transactions. Denmark scores well in Consumer usage and skills, with strong residential PC penetration while high online banking usage is indicative of the large proportion of frequent internet users in the adult population.

Another top scoring position claimed by Denmark is in government infrastructure, with Broadband to schools doing well, as well as the usage of e-government services.

There are a few areas where improvement would be welcome. Consumer infrastructure still suffers from low 3G penetration as was highlighted last year. New metrics that highlight broadband quality could also be improved as well as business related PC penetration.
