Sweden overtakes the United States to take the top spot in the Connectivity Scorecard 2010 as a result of its consistently outstanding performance across the board. It is a leader in LTE deployment as well as ranking very well in the quality of Broadband infrastructure, penetration and download speeds (above 5Mbps) a new metric that is indicative of widespread deployment of next-generation infrastructure. Also unsurprisingly Sweden scores well on all e-government and public sector related metrics.
Business infrastructure scores well as a result of heavy investment in IT related HW & SW and ICT related R&D as well as business broadband, however it is somewhat let down by lower ICT usage.
Low SMS and voice minutes usage drag down Sweden’s consumer usage scores to a degree, but this is balanced out by prolific internet usage amongst the general population, with high scores in internet banking and e-commerce.
Apart from Poland, consumers in Korea spend the least on software out of all the innovation driven economies
