Sweden scores 6.59 and retains its ranking of 2nd amongst the innovation-driven economies on the Connectivity Scorecard 2013 index.
This year, the country trails leading Denmark and is ahead of the United States, whereas last year Sweden was ahead of Denmark and just behind the United States. The reason for these developments is likely a combination of using new data, new weights for the six components of the Scorecard, and perhaps some catch-up by Denmark.
As was the case last year, and in all previous years, Sweden is a consistently strong performer in all areas with only few weaknesses. This year Sweden is the best performer in both public sector infrastructure and public sector usage & skills components.
